Dear Anonymous Ptbo Student

Dear Anonymous Ptbo Student,

You are right, it is unfortunate that it takes something tragic like this to draw people’s attention to mental illness. The sad reality is that people are so caught up with their own lives and hurry to realize that there are hurting people all around them and it’s not so obvious as a visible wound. It’s not so easy to see because we all are fooled into believing that it’s not alright to struggle; that it somehow will make people think less of us. The truth is we all struggle below the masks we put on and it is okay not to be okay. It becomes a little less hopeless the moment we realize we are not alone. I write this to you today to let you know there are people who want to help abandon the masks and walk along side, we’re called Impact and we meet in room A213 at Crestwood Secondary Mondays during lunch. If we’re not at your school yet but you would like us to be, get in touch with us, we’d love to talk with you.
